Ojai WordFest
Ojai has been attracting authors and writers to its mountain valley for centuries. Ojai WordFest (OFC) is hoping to attract writers back to its pink sunset-hued Shangri La or for the first time. WordFest is a new literary festival for “word lovers” of all genres, ages and skill level.
Past participants have come from as far away as Europe, Asia, South America, Canada and the East Coast proving what many locals already know—that Ojai has international appeal and is a writer’s dream destination.

Back for their sophomore run of the literary festival:
- Bret Bradigan – Publisher, Ojai Quarterly magazine, The Art of the Ojai Life & Ojai Real Estate magazine, the premiere housing publication serving the Ojai Valley, Ventura, Santa Barbara and Montecito. “Ojai is a natural venue for an event such as Ojai WordFest. We are brimming with talent, tranquil beauty and inspiration.”
- Sequoia Hamilton – Founder, 2nd Annual Ojai Writers Conference (June 8-10, 2012) & Global Writing Adventures including Paris Writers Retreat (Oct 1-7, 2012), Florence Writers Retreat (Oct 8-13, 2012) and Writers Trip to Angkor Wat, Cambodia (Nov 1-11, 2012.) “Our hope is that Ojai WordFest draws people from all over Southern California to Ojai. Ojai is already home to Ojai Playwrights Conference, Ojai Film Festival, Ojai Music Festival, and other arts-centric events with whom we aim to collaborate and showcase. In addition, we’re thrilled by the outpouring of support from local businesses, community organizations, the City of Ojai, and the numerous volunteers who are dedicated to this literary festival.”
